Valencia, Chulilla, Valencia

We scurried over to Valencia, met up with our friend Purpur, and headed on to Chulilla, a tiny little town 45 minutes west of the city.

The boys immediately bought the climbing guidebook for the area. Our apartment was located maybe a 5-minute walk from this viewpoint, near (wait for it...) the castle.

Every Thursday the town had a market, where we stocked up on produce. This is what 14 euros(almost 15 usd) can get you. This, plus canned fish, beans, cheese, bread, and of course, chocolate and wine, would comfortably feed 3 active adult males for a week.
We started out with the three of us, then Dalen from the Boone Crew joined us, then Florian from Austria completed the House of Smells. Meet the bros!

Dylan had to eventually give in and buy a 100-meter rope, so that they could climb 50 meter routes.

The. Bros. AKA the House of Smells Survivors.
Here are some things we did when we weren't out climbing:

Most rest days were spent at our friendly neighborhood bar, aka the wifi spot. Wine was $1 a glass.

Carnaval!

Puzzle sesh with our new friends, Sol and Ginnie Jo!

The plumbing in our apartment wasn't so good, so we found ourselves hanging out on the street in front of our apartment, which helped us interact with our neighbors more...

...and helped Purpur relax.

Ginnie Jo invited me to a girls day out one day. These are her girls.

Fun school event where all the kiddos dressed up and had a parade.

And then we went out and had a three course lunch, no big deal...

Thank you for all the good times ladies!

We sure miss this beautiful place.
After a blissful month in Chulilla, Purp, Dyl and I spent a coupled of days in Valencia before heading up north, to Catalunya.

Sol and Ginnie hooked us up with this amazing apartment in the city center, where Purpur finally embraced the hipster lifestyle.

Our standard snack plate of ham, cheese, almonds, anchovies, and olives..

We saw some cool street art in Valencia.
